Much better!

The portable swamp cooler mad a huge difference last night. I slept better and the room stayed cooler. I can breathe better in spite of allergies brought on by riding the scooter to Home Depot while Cottonwood is blowing.

Meant to wake up early to get things done but I was sleeping too good and didn't want to get up.

One problem that took a while with the main swamp cooler was that the inner race of the pillow block was firmly set in place. I had to chisel it off. I don't think I ever replaced that one because I couldn't get it off before. The motor is what will take longest this evening because it's heavy. But I expect to be able to finish everything in about an hour.

That doesn't mean I'm done with the whole system, though. I still have to run new cable at some point and patch a spot in the ducting which collapsed. That's what happens when people use existing sheetrock walls as swamp cooler ducting. Probably best that spot collapsed. High possibility of mold there. I still intend to replace the entire ducting at some point in the future. It seems clear of mold from the multiple times I've looked up there but I'd rather have more appropriate materials in place.

For now, try to finish the immediate work early and get back to work on daughter's room and the garden.
