Daughter's creation

Daughter spent several hours making a small stuffed animal for her mother today. A gift for her mother's birthday, which is next weekend but daughter gave it to her early. It was seriously cute! She put so much effort into it, sewing the entire thing by hand.

I had suggested going swimming this weekend but she didn't really feel like it. Mostly because it has become such a hassle to get into the indoor pools, with the one nearest us being closed for repairs. All freaking summer, that is.

I think I'll check into ice skating next weekend. She was reading a book which included ice skating not long ago, so hoping the combination of that and the heat will give her more motivation for it. Be a good way to keep cool.

The air conditioner in the car stopped working while I was driving her home. Not sure why because it was working fine and then just stopped. Got home and saw the compressor isn't turning. I'll have to check out why sometime this week. If it requires any parts then fixing it will have to wait until next week. Kind of hoping it's just a blown fuse or loose wire.

Found the cantaloupe seeds I had misplaced. Planted some of those, seeds for giant watermelon and for pie pumpkins today. For the most part, I'm planting pumpkins later than usual to try and avoid most of the squash bugs. I hope not planting corn will help with that because they seem to feed and hide in corn stalks as well as pumpkin plants. Maybe interval spacing of peppers will also help deter them.
