Feeling better this morning than yesterday. Still a little pain but not feeling sick all over. Last night, woke in the middle of the night soaked with sweat, even though I had a ceiling fan and two evaporative coolers blowing on me. So there was definitely something going on.
I made up a mixture last evening of garlic, nicotine and insecticidal soap. Strained that, put it in the sprayer and sprayed the tomatoes with it. If white flies are the problem, I should see a difference very quickly.
Many of the tomatoes I planted out have failed. I have one or two tomato plants left inside to transplant out. Plus I have at least three wild tomato plants coming up in different places which I can move to the tomato patch. Or just stake where they are. One I know I'll move because it's in the middle of the sunflowers. Really not sure how that happened.
I am certain that one reason things are growing a bit slow this year is because the average night temperatures are cooler this year. By this time in past years, lettuce has started to bolt. Not this year. It matured late and is still growing. The average humidity is higher here this year than normal. Though it does drop during the day to less than 5 percent. No question at all my property has higher than average because of the irrigation. I am absolutely not complaining! Plus I have trees on the west and the east which shade the garden more in morning and evening, keeping soil temperatures down. In summer heat and for comfort that's a good thing. Just equating to the garden maturing later than usual this year. The mulch has probably kept soil temp down below average this year, also.
El Nino is a definite go this year. Allegedly we're not yet seeing effects from it yet. But it may cause increased rain later.
The camera and maybe the new printer should be delivered later today.
