Moving ahead

Getting back around to buying tools for the house and yard again. Got a larger air compressor and a pole saw this weekend. The old air compressor is still good, so I can sell that. The pole saw is a little expensive but is something which should last for many years, since it is rarely used.

Going to spend more money later on for more woodworking tools. Planer first of all. Possibly at a later date a lathe and table router. Even the planer won't be for a few weeks. I want to maintain and build up savings before that and not dip into them for the purpose of that or vacation if it can be helped.

Daughter did not want to do much this weekend. Worked on a project for school, did some reading. We really need to get out. I guess I am going to have to stop letting it be a choice.

It's here. She's a teenager.

I was rather lazy this weekend, myself. Then again, I do like my weekend being a weekend. So I cannot say too much about the kid. On the other hand, I am regaining energy. Need to make a prioritized list of things to do. Some things on the slate for this week are finishing the bathroom walls. Have not finished that because it does involve some re-wiring. The ceiling light. Days are longer, so I can get that done during the week. I prefer doing sheetrock work during the week because of the mess it causes.

The air compressor will come in handy for painting and some other projects once I get some air tools to go with it. The old one was 3 gal capacity and 1/3 HP. The new one is 10 gal and 2.5 HP, so larger and fills much faster. Can maintain air pressure for some projects, at least painting, even if the tank runs empty. Though I know it will not run continuously for painting.

I think this week is going to be a huge (or as he says, "yuuuge") turnaround for Bernie Sanders! Just today he had three rallies in Seattle which attracted 60,000 people! One city, one day! Mainstream media has not even mentioned it. Of course, they do not like Bernie because they are all major corporations who will have to pay taxes and living wages if he is elected. So they try to ignore him, unless they are trying to discredit him. Which is really hard to do, since there are no scandals to find in his past.

Oh, I came out of my depression the other day once I got some sleep. I was very irritable on Friday but that could have been because I was dealing with complete idiots on the phone. People who could not read or spell. One doctor whom I had to explain what range of motion is for a patient's hip. Other people whom I knew were just outright lying about clinical information. I really wish I could refer some of these people to be audited by the insurance companies and the government.

Depression

Well, if that doesn't suck...

Been getting some things accomplished this week. Pulling weeds, patching walls. Tonight got the dishes, a load of laundry in the washer, swept and mopped, actually finally got one wall closed up (not done with that room, the bathroom), cooked dinner but nothing big. Went grocery shopping.

While at the grocery store was when it hit. An overbearing wall of deep depression.

I used to be very prone to depression. I admit I attempted suicide multiple times when I was younger. Been at least 30 years since I had a depression like tonight. I was going along just fine when it seemed like the entire world crashed around me. It must have been hovering just under the surface. The only thing that brought it on was a song. I even like the song. This time it was like a brick on the head.

I don't know, maybe I'm getting sick. Breathing in too much gypsum dust?

On the up side, I am much more emotionally stable overall than I was years ago. I also know this will not last. I just have to hang on with a white knuckle grip and ride it out.

Just going to watch some videos on YouTube and get to bed. Hope this depression is gone in the morning.

Down

I am rather down. Bernie did not do so well in the primaries today. Not what I expected or hoped for.

At this point, I am seriously losing faith in this country. I cannot believe a violent racist and a lying assassin are the two leading candidates for the Presidency at this point in history. We are going so far backward that there is absolutely nothing funny about it. This is widespread insanity and nothing short of.

Oh, well.

If not for my daughter if Bernie loses the nomination I would pack up and move to Canada. As it is, I may do that when she turns 18 and ask her if she wants to go.. If any of us are still alive at that point.

Right now I am worried my predictions of civil war have been grossly underestimated. It may wind up being much, much worse than I previously thought. No matter which way we go now, it is imminent. It escalates every day but is nowhere near the apex. It is going to get much worse before it gets better. IF it gets better. I have no faith right now that it will.

On the up side, weather is warming up and I am getting my energy back. Very happy the time change was this past weekend.

Got out and pulled dead Cosmos from last year in the garden. Removed some of the old tomato trellises that broke last year.

I had bought some lumber for new trellises this weekend after dropping daughter off at her mother's. Cut some of the lumber for posts tonight.

Looks like I finally got things figured out for growing cannabis. What I have been doing wrong is not enough acidity. It normally grows in humid conditions and moist soil. That kind of environment typically has rather acidic soil. I have seen mention of soil pH in a number of places but have not seen anything stressing it as a major factor. This time around I am using acid every time I add water to the plants. At this time every seed I planted is growing and looks healthy. Still small but they appear stronger than they have in the past. Also growing faster than before. That is, once they germinated.

I have a lot of plans for this year. Getting my energy and health back. Finances have improved. Hope they stay that way this time.

One big thing is that I have gained the knowledge and resources to start working on solar heating for the house. I am going to build and install a system this summer. Make it reversible and see if it helps cool the house. If not, it will still be good for heating. Worth a try. I have seen many houses with solar heating panels but they always have only one panel. Maybe not this year but eventually I will install multiple panels for increased efficiency and to be able to heat zones.

Another thing is that I need to finish the office. That alone will help with the utility bills. If I can isolate my work space better it would mean I could maintain the temperature a lot less in most of the house.

I am still thinking of solar and/or wind energy but it would make more sense to do the solar heating project/s first because that is what takes the most energy for the house. If I do things in that order, I would need a lot fewer solar panels. The items which require the most energy in the house are heating, cooling, the fridge and washer/dryer. If I deal with the heating and cooling my electric bill will be reduced by at least half, maybe more.

Polls and more

The MSM has been very intentionally attempting to downplay, negate and even destroy Bernie Sanders and his campaign.

Problem is, it's not working! Bernie won the primary in MI last night, which all the mainstream media (MSM) had predicted he would lose by as much as 20 points.

So, there are a number of issues at hand here. For one, most of the MSM is owned and dictated by major corporations who seriously do not like Sanders. Then there is the fact that they are becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Young people and educated people have very much caught on to their games. We are all turning to alternative sources for information. We also have no problem asking questions when things just do not add up. There are times that I and others do not even agree with left wing sources. So we seek additional information without hesitation.

Then there are related polls. As in MI, polls often lean toward the right wing or at least moderate establishment view. Problem is, we do not really trust the establishment. So, many times the polls are taken by establishment MSM, which are accessed by their websites and publicized on their stations. If you do not follow those sources, your opinion is not counted.

The funny thing is, with all their billions which can be spent on research, they are still completely shocked when their predictions fall flat. That's good! It means they have underestimated us and given us time to organize and become massively stronger while they had their eyes closed. Now we cannot be stopped.

The only states which Clinton has won are all GOP states. The more blue or even purple the state is, the more Sanders wins by increasing margins.

I have personally been leading a movement for the last few weeks which is growing daily. The movement to boycott MSM news sources. Of course, that is for those who have not already. They ignore minorities and Liberal views. They cannot fight back against a widespread grassroots movement which rejects them. They have no target. They have no defense. If they refuse to join us, they become not our enemy. Just irrelevant.
