Daughter and I finally made it out to the ice cave this afternoon. She didn't want to go at first because of the heat, then changed her mind later. Got there too late to go on the log trail to the volcano. (They gave us a rain check for the long trail.) It was a good afternoon for it. Hot in the city but became cloudy and cooler out in the hills.
Funny thing. That's the third time I have gone out there and have not yet been able to see the volcano. First time with the ex and she didn't want to walk that far. Second time with daughter, there was a wildfire nearby blowing increasing smoke and I didn't know the location, so we turned back. Then today, we got there too late. Maybe I should give up on the volcano trail and take all this as a sign. Or try going by myself someday.
We also thought of going to the Rte 66 Casino buffet.. until we found out it was $26 a person on weekends. Yeah, not that hungry. We'll go some other time, when it's $11 a person. Instead, we picked up Chinese food on the way home. She was happy with that (especially since I let her choose what kind of food she wanted beforehand).
I'm tired. Should sleep well.
