Took daughter to see "Maleficent" today. Not very often I'll pay full price for a first run movie but I had a feeling about this one. That feeling was right!
I place this movie as probably the best Disney movie ever to date! The special effects are amazing, the writing is fantastic and the acting is flawless. Completely new take on the original story.
They could not have chosen a better actress for the lead role than Angelina Jolie. She seriously nailed it!
Other than that, we picked up some curtain rods for her room. I let her pick them out. I saw a set before she did and knew they would be the ones she would choose. I was right. They have crystal globes on each end. For her curtains, I still need some backing material to make them opaque. Can sew them together in a few minutes.
Neither one of us felt like doing much outside today. Too hot. Humidity only 5 percent. We talked about the zoo but quickly discarded the idea. June is the hottest month of the year here, then slowly declines through July and August.
I suspect the house diagonally across the street was sold. Whoever bought it is quickly putting money into it to replace the roof and add another room. Daughter and I hope whoever is moving in is nice and she hopes they have a kid her age. Considering the extra room being added on, that could be a possibility.
She has reached an age where she is gaining more of a social yearning. Knew it would happen. Happy that so far she's not going crazy about it. Have to try and figure out some kind of options for social opportunities for her in a sane and safe manner.
Picked up a lot more wood on the way home. Hopefully it will be enough to finish the job. Kind of tired tonight. Get back to work on it tomorrow.
