Hump week

Temperature-wise, the next week or two is the hump week for the year. Temperatures expected around or above 100. Right after that, temperatures are expected to drop down into the 80's again. By August, it should be dropping into the 70's at times.

Last year, when I was in Colorado, it actually got cool enough at night when I was riding my scooter that I had to wear long sleeves at times. But daytime temperatures average 10 degrees cooler there than here. Plus a lot more shade from trees and more humidity.

Still playing around with the irrigation. Drip emitters have to be close to plants. If too far away, the water will displace the salt in the soil toward the plant, doing more damage than good. Which results in the soil being saturated but the plant being dehydrated.

The south garden is doing a lot better in that respect than the north garden. Not entirely a gone issue but better. I am still seeking weeds which proliferate in alkaline soil. Meaning I need to add more acid to the irrigation.

I need to check the larger zone for leaks this evening. It's showing possible signs of lost pressure. If there's no leak, I need to run more acid to clear the emitters.
