No showings of the house today.
I'm getting more than a little frustrated.
Any way, decided to do one thing I had tried to avoid. One rather obvious section of floor in the front room looked pretty rough. So I tried sanding it. To large an area and had to sand through layers of polish and sealant to get to the wood. After a couple of hours of sanding, I went to Harbor Freight and Home Depot. Got a belt sander and some stain/polyurethane.
The belt sander was far more effective. Got the rest of the floor section sanded down in about an hour. Swept, mopped and applied the stain/poly. It's blending in well and looks good. This stuff dries in 6 hours. It will need another coat, which I can apply at 10 PM. If no more coats are needed after that, I can apply more polish in the morning. Right now I am thinking the second coat will be enough.
Work called today and asked if I can work Monday evening. I said yes. Least that will pay for the sander and stain plus more. Then I have the 3 other shifts lined up. Guess I will pick up more if I can. I may pick up some mornings if they are on weekends. No urge to work weekdays when the docs and admins are there. I'll even work the 4th if they ask in advance. Not like I have any plans and don't want to spend money going to the Balloon Park.
Waiting for the sun to go down a bit. Then going to go out, water the grass and wash the car.
Next week I think I'll get some paint for the car. Make it look more decent. Going to cut out the headliner because it keeps falling down. Maybe get a new one installed sometime. Still debating getting another vehicle but I have to wait until I get an offer on the house. If I do, think I'll check on SUV's. Burn more gas but they have more room to haul tools and things like that.
