Decision made. Staying gluten free. I have an odd warmth in the area of my appendix. Not pain. However, last night I also felt a crawling feeling in the same area. Besides, when I changed to gluten free I lost over 20 lbs in one month while eating. It was all inflammation. Numerous vague health complaints faded and have been absent for years now since making that change. Not worth going back and risking worse damage.
I'm really happy with the invisible dog fence. Since installing it, had no escapes and no garden damage. Still deciding on final layout for it before burying the cables.
Have to get out this morning and water the flowers daughter planted this weekend.
Haven't finished tilling yet, so I haven't set the irrigation system in place for the year. Not much good until the well pump is running, any way. Have to check the foot valve again and pull the pipes if not working. If I recall right, I think the price on it has actually decreased. Only $13 for a new one. Or maybe I'm thinking in terms of my finances previously and $13 just seemed like a lot more money before. But if I can pull the old valve, clean it out and get it to work, still a better choice. In any case, my best bet is probably to get a 6 ft pipe, so the foot valve is suspended from the bottom of the well by a couple of feet. That keeps sand and clay out of it. The new cap will keep organic material out of it. I did try putting a cap in place once before but it split when I drilled it. The new cap is larger and heavier, plus I used a different bit for drilling, so it didn't split and pipe fits snugly.
I have to replace a couple of garden hoses this year. Dog damage. They chewed up two of the hoses. I actually cannot figure out why they did not chew up the third one.
Once I get the well pump running, I have to soak the old drip lines in acid solution for a day or so to clear mineral deposits. Had a lot of clogged emitters by the end of last year.
