St Patrick's Day weekend

Gave my daughter a cute oversized leprechaun hat for St Patrick's Day weekend. She almost instantly started humming and dancing an Irish jig and doing an awesome job! She's been doing it on and off all day long. She should sleep well tonight. She couldn't recall seeing Irish dancing any place before. Showed her some clips from Riverdance and Lord of the Dance. She was impressed.

Got the well up and running today. Only problem is that the gauge has a small leak. Otherwise, it pressurizes and works fine. The gauge is only a visual gauge and doesn't affect function. I may remove the gauge and replace it with a bolt until I can get a new one. The automatic pressure shut off is separate. I did have to pull the pipes and clear the foot valve. It was clogged with sand. Replaced one pipe with a shorter one to suspend the valve from the bottom. I don't remember why but I forgot I had improvised a foot valve by using a check valve and short length of PVC with holes drilled in it and covered with nylon netting. I replaced the netting when I cleared the valve. Long as the valve stays suspended this arrangement should last for several years. Pressure is good. It may actually be better than before because the connections are better and will stay more secure. Cap in place means foot valve should remain clear.

So, I should be able to finish tilling and then set up irrigation this week. Big relief to have that done. It keeps the water bill down and avoids the addition of extra sodium to the soil from using municipal water.

We didn't get to complete our plans today. Try tomorrow. Weather didn't cooperate today.

Made doughnuts tonight. Been having a craving. So I made glazed gluten free chocolate sour cream doughnut holes. They came out good! Can't tell they're gluten free at all.

Had a good surprise. Looked up the CV axle again today. Either I looked at it wrong the first time or the price dropped by nearly $20. Only a $5 core charge. So I can get that done this week, long as weather cooperates.
