7 AM

Well, got up at 7 this morning. Not getting much done. Cold this morning because of another front which came through. Glad the winds didn't pick up so much here. My immediate area got spared. Some spots had 65 mph winds.

While not physically working on something, my mind is usually working.

Been considering something with the car. The idle speed doesn't stay stable. Timing is good, no backfires and you can hear it humming quietly. Just the engine speed stays at one speed, then decreases under certain conditions. Seems like a vacuum problem. I think it may be the PCV valve. That may explain the problem, if it's clogged. Probably stuck shut. Easy and cheap fix. New one costs $3 and takes a couple minutes to replace. Have to do that tonight, when I do the transmission filter. I do know the oil in the car was really dirty when I bought the car, which increases the chances of the PCV valve being bad.

Happy to say the gasket which came with the new transmission filter does not require sealant. That decreases chances of leaks when it's replaced. Also makes the job cleaner and faster.

Transplanted some pepper seedlings into peat pots last night. Not focusing on large numbers of pepper plants this year. Success with peppers was pretty low last year. I did order more Scorpion pepper seeds to try those again. They completely failed last year. Once again, possibly because of sodium. Going to try keeping some in potting soil and some in the garden and compare. Mostly planning those as a cash crop. But those seeds haven't come in yet. Definitely a warm weather crop.

Haven't had any major gastric problems for a couple of weeks now. Really happy about that. Haven't managed to transition to electronic cigarette yet, so it's time to try something else. Going to try a gluten challenge (small scale), just to confirm that is an issue and not just ulcerative colitis. Symptoms between the two are very similar and you can have both. Celiac is mostly an upper intestinal issue and (in mine and most cases) ulcerative colitis is a lower intestinal issue. If that extends to the upper intestines, which mine did not, it carries a much higher risk of colon cancer. Long as it remains in the lower intestine, there is no increased risk. However, if not controlled it does pose risk of infection, scar tissue overgrowth, gastric hemorrhage and tissue necrosis, all potentially lethal. Candidiasis is a definite and I have maintained a regimen which keeps that at a low level. It would be nice if I could go back to eating hamburgers and doughnuts, though. Only one way to find out.
