Snow?

Took daughter to the flea market today. The wind started blowing, temperature dropped. Then snow flurries started falling. They didn't last long but it got cool enough that we left rather quickly.

We picked up a brand new video game system that has 88 very old games on it. Not a bad deal for $20! Not exactly an Xbox but she likes several of the games. It has a few old favorites of mine from long ago. Super Mario, Joust and some others. It works rather well except for the gun which came with it for a couple of games. Bummer. I was looking forward to Hogan's Alley.

Daughter is enjoying it quite a bit, even if the games are old ones. We both laugh at some of the games and how bad they are. Interesting showing her that these are how computer games and programs developed over time. It does include things like Galaga and Donkey Kong. She decided her favorite is Tennis. Though she likes playing doubles, where her character can appear to swat mine on the butt while she giggles until her face is bright red.

Pretty late as I add to this. Not going to be worth much in the morning. Hopefully by afternoon.

I was happy to find that Home Depot sells gypsum in the garden section. Good price, at less than $4 for a 40 lb bag. Means I don't have to take time off or go out of my way to get gypsum. I've heard of people having to use tons of it to rectify salt problems. I've already used several hundred pounds. I think a few hundred more over time will do the job, when combined with other additives past, present and future. That doesn't mean I won't have to add more yearly. Several of my preferred crops (like tomatoes and pumpkins) have a high calcium uptake and requirement. Though I saw very little blossom end rot last year, once the gypsum I had added dissolved and worked it's way into the soil. The stuff from Home Depot is mined natural gypsum in coarse powder form and should show benefits much faster, with less work than the forms I previously used.
