I'm awake

I'm awake. Have to admit that after so many years on the night shift it's still a fear of mine that I won't wake up on time for an early shift. That fear has proven unfounded many times but it's still there.

However, I do plan on rising earlier as temperatures increase in the early morning. Still too cold to get much done in early morning right now. Once morning temps are about 50, it will be warm enough to get things done outside before work and I'll be doing less writing in the morning.

For now, going to be getting things done in the evenings. Things I hope to accomplish this week (weather permitting for some) is getting the house cleaner, doing more cutting and burning and tilling. Have to get the garden formed so that I can put the irrigation system in place next week. Need to buy some replacement parts before I can start the system up. Plus I want to change the configuration of the invisible dog fence and bury the wires.

Also need to work on the automatic seat belt for the passenger side of the car. It's locked in an open position. There's also a lap belt but need to get that shoulder belt fixed. Plus I need to adjust the engine air intake. Idle speed is too low. It's my suspicion that this car came from a lower elevation and the air mixture was never properly set for this elevation. Takes a turn of a screwdriver but you have to know what to adjust. It is 21 years old and I'm not sure vehicles back then would adjust themselves to different elevations. Usually had to be done manually. Heck, even my bike had to be reset to higher elevation manually and it's much newer than the car.

The invisible dog fence is helping with feeding the puppies. The adult dogs all want to fight over the food and will leave the puppies out of the equation. I've been feeding the puppies under the back stairs but they're getting too big. Now I can place their food on the other side of the invisible fence and the big dogs can't cross because the adults try to eat the puppy food, also. Those dogs are being fed plenty. If you could see how fat they are, you would have no doubt.

Part of the reason I want to change the placement of the dog fence is that the dogs are now using the north side of the house as a toilet. I've tried training them not to do that and to use a different area but if they can get over there, they go right back to it. So, the new configuration will block that area. Plus I have to configure it to keep them out of the plant area of the solarium (part of which I haven't built yet).

Oh, yeah. Have to clear the south side of the house from dead weeds. Going to spray ground clear in that area.

Time to get the work computer booted up.
