Yeah, couldn't be that easy

Got pretty far under the circumstances today. Nowhere near as far as planned.

Went to Home Depot, got the supplies I needed.

Came back, started working on the office. Got holes cut and drilled. Then, while cutting a hole in the closet, the angle grinder started vibrating violently, made a strange noise, then started smoking and spitting sparks. Switch would not turn off. Could not set it down (though I was afraid it was going to shock me, which it didn't) because it would go scooting across the floor. Or in a circle back at me. Or set the floor on fire. Finally got a foot on the extension cord and yanked the cord on the grinder end. Adventure over.

Of course, I had to go to Harbor Freight. Luckily, new angle grinder was on sale plus I had a coupon.

Came back, walked the dog. Then got back to work.

Not done with the office but got the trunk cable hooked up with a GFCI outlet. So the whole room will have GFCI protection, like daughter's room. All the circuits will go through that outlet. Checked that to be sure it works and it's good.

It was a puzzle to figure out how to hook up outlets on the opposite side of the room without cutting the walls as much as I did for some of the rooms. Figured it out. That's where the trap door I cut will come in handy. In one case, it will mean wasting some cable but that's okay. I have way more than I need.

Hmm. Different problem. When I hook up an outside box for the back yard I need lube to get the cable through the conduit. I had stuff but I either shipped it or gave it away. Hate to spend money on more. Ah! Hair gel from Dollar Tree! It's basically the exact same thing. A water based gel that will dry up after use.

So I should be able to get most or all the wiring done tomorrow. Hope to have everything done in one week. I am way behind the schedule I had hope to meet already. I had hoped to be in AL by now.
