Further planning

My pay went in the bank this morning. Took me back up to a decent level, so even once the bills are paid, I should have $6000 in the bank. Wish it was more but the shipping is paid for, so that's the biggest expense of the move. Not expecting getting to AL will cost much.

Long as I can stay near that number (working 3 days this coming week helps) I can invest a little bit more which I was questioning. I have reached the point where I am more carefully counting what I spend.

One big thing I have been debating is renting a floor polisher (buffer). It costs $45 a day to rent. Doesn't sound like much if it truly is only one day. For a while I was concerned it could take more than one day to get the floors all done. Now I figure I have little enough in the house that I can finish the floor in the office, finish daughter's room, move absolutely everything into those two rooms, rent the buffer and get all the floors done in a few hours. May run a bit more than that for pads or attachments. But that, two gallons of sealant and a couple of $1 sponge mops will let me refinish the brick and hardwood floors through the house.

That alone would make a huge difference in the selling price.

Right now I am reconsidering going up on the asking price to $116k, which would give me a round $40k profit on the house, making my penny pinching and effort pay off nicely.

Okay, I need to get moving. Take a bath and go to Home Depot before work.
