Middle of May and it's cold. Right now, almost 9 AM and it's 45 degrees outside. I'm wearing a sweat jacket and had to turn the furnace on.
I can imagine what the climate change deniers are saying. No grasp that this is a sign of climate change. They better enjoy it while they can.
I expect some truly massive storms later this year.
Checked some of the areas I plastered yesterday and really proud of one area. In the office, the walls are basically not textured. Once you cut into that and have to patch it, it is really difficult to make it blend in without texturing the whole room. I managed it! It blends in so well that once it's painted it will be almost invisible!
Of course, the areas I expected to crack have cracked. I'll get to those spots today.
Now I can start painting. I'll start with the office. I can paint the whole office except for a few sq ft which have to have plaster touched up. Get daughter's room done, which will take more effort because of the murals. Since I will be here when people come look at the house, I can offer to paint over the murals if they prefer. That would make me rather sad but just have to deal with it. Can do most of the hall, again except for a few sq ft. Can get the bathroom walls done today. Maybe at least some of the tile in the kitchen.
Have to go through and re-label the circuit breakers. After resetting the cables, they're not in the same places they were. That's not difficult but annoyingly time consuming. Have to run an extension cord and a lamp from each room while I turn each circuit breaker off and label them.
One big job is going to be painting the window frames inside and out. If time is an issue, I'll do the front ones first, so I can take pictures and get the house listed. I can still keep working on the rest afterward. All the trim areas are going to be difficult but worth it.
I do expect that I can be done with everything or close to it by Sun evening.
Politics and society- Funny how people call me confrontational. I always focus on facts and logic. I refuse to argue with people that argue for the sake of argument and have no facts, no rational thought processes going on and willfully ignore or try to invalidate facts using what amounts to opinion and superstition. They are the ones who become overly aggressive, insulting and even violent.
I have been called a Communist, a Russian puppet/troll/agent, an idiot, a moron and worse. All for presenting or demanding facts and evidence on various subjects.
Yes, a civil war is coming. It's already here but will explode sometime soon. Probably this year. Most likely in the heat of the summer. That's when most riots occur. Explained why to someone not long ago. This civil war is going to be between those who can think rationally against those who cannot. This will have a lot of crossover because some people can think rationally on some subjects and not on others. The media is making all of that worse instead of better.
Interesting thing on that is that the MSM (main stream media) has lost 40% of it's viewership in the last few years. They don't state those numbers. They just report percentage of existing viewers. They have also increased their advertising rates, so they are charging more to reach fewer people. I'm surprised their advertisers haven't called them out on that. However, to a large degree, the advertisers have changed. Big advertisers now are weapons and airline manufacturers. That's not pushing for direct sales. That's pushing a political agenda. Building support for war machines. It's also a bribe to news outlets to cover warfare favorably. Boeing and Raytheon are huge advertisers on news channels. Their viewers never notice, never ask questions.
Most Americans are not remotely aware the dollar is falling internationally. Why? Because it's not reported on MSM. All they hear is how great the dollar is doing. More and more countries are turning away from the dollar. Now, while the US is spending $trillions on warfare and becoming more nationalist, China and Russia have been investing money in the "Belt and Road Initiative" which increases global trade and creates millions of jobs globally. Peacefully. Which improves diplomatic ties with other countries. Americans will never see the fall of the dollar until it hits rock bottom. You can even tell them but as long as their paycheck appears the same and their stocks are up, they will remain in denial.
