Short break

Got a somewhat early start this morning. Supposed to be a hot day, so I wanted to get some things done outside before it's too hot.

Already moved at least a ton, maybe more, of cinder blocks to behind the shed. Just to make the yard look better. That wasn't possible until I got rid of the old wooden fence section back there. I still have at least another ton left to move. If it gets too hot they will have to wait until this evening or tomorrow morning.

Also trimmed weeds and started another bonfire. Moved it to a different spot because I wanted to burn a pile of chipped wood that had become overgrown with grass. (That happens amazingly fast.) Easier burning it than trying to rake it out.

Not bad for before 11 AM.

Once it gets hot out, going to take my efforts inside.

One good thing. The humidity has been better than normal for here lately. It was (by Accuweather) 23% yesterday and currently 24%. I could tell it was higher than normal because my sweat remained on my skin long enough to help cool me down a little. Usually it's so dry here that sweat dries too fast and it seems like you're not sweating at all. Humidity of 4% is not uncommon here.

While the ambient temperature may say around 70 degrees, surface temperature is much hotter. I've had two outdoor thermometers. The first one died. The current one is on the picnic table. Right now it reads 112 degrees. I don't trust the weather channel any way. They claim it's 69 degrees outside. It's cooler in the house than outside right now and my indoor thermometer (two of them) say it's about 74 in the house. They must be taking their readings in the mountains or something.

Okay, going to try and move a few more blocks before it's really scorching outside.
