Did not get the wiring done today. Simple reason. The power went out for most of the day.
Called PNM and they said a car hit a pole. Thing is, I don't believe it. Every year without fail there is a power outage at this time of year. Soon as it gets hot enough for people to turn on their swamp coolers and AC's. I remember clearly the past two years because it happened during the week while I was working from home. I wound up each time waiting most of the day for power to come back up.
It was hot enough in the house that I could not get too much done. I did get the last items out of the office and ripped the carpet out. Also got the kitchen and workshop much better cleaned and organized. That makes me feel better just walking through the house.
Took pictures of the dog and the bikes, put ads on CL for them.
Checked the wiring for the office. The outlets will have to be rewired. That sucks. Oh, well. Not enough outlets in there for it to meet modern electrical code. Unfortunately that means I'll probably have to plaster the entire room, which I had hoped to avoid. The walls are smooth, which I doubt I can blend in. I'll definitely try that first and hope.
Did not get the tack strips pulled up but that will be a lot less of an issue than with daughter's room. Her room had staples all over the floors, this one only has them for the tack strips. Strange, as both rooms had the same carpet and I figured it was installed in both rooms by the same person but now I guess not. It has the ugliest linoleum I have ever seen under the carpet. Not sure yet if I have to take that up. Probably. That may prove to be quite a job.
Get some sleep in a while. Get back to it tomorrow. Try and get this stuff finished. I'm tired of working on this crap but can't stop without giving up a lot of money.
