Really glad my tetanus shot is up to date. Yesterday I tried doing brain surgery on myself with a rusted screw yesterday, right in the temple. This evening I simply stepped on a rusted nail. Right through the shoe into the foot.
Damn I'm talented.
So, did not get moving as early as I had hoped. Won't go into why. Though I did get moving and got a bit done.
Finished painting the shed. Stapled some thick plastic sheeting on the roof as I had planned. It shows. Not something I am going to hide or lie about. Have to tell any potential buyers that the shed needs a new roof.
Spot painted some places on the house where there were minor cracks. Just expansion and contraction. Even the new stucco cracked again (hairline) in those places.
So many cracks. I hope to hell the foundation hasn't slipped. That would destroy the selling price.
Dismantled the wooden fence that the wind blew down last year. That depressed me.
Took apart the remaining furniture in daughter's room which I am not taking with me. Put that out for the neighbors. Then put out tons of other things as well. So the house is emptying out. Almost there.
Started burning scrap wood this evening. Going to take several burns to get all of it done. Any wood that may have some use I tossed over the fence for the next door neighbor who asked for lumber. I don't think he knew exactly what he was asking for. So the yard is emptying out, also.
I hate to divert effort away from renovations but tomorrow I have to spend at least part of the day organizing what's left in the workshop and clearing remaining items from other rooms. Then I need to pull or cut weeds. The back yard has lots of fast growing weeds, in some places waist high. Clear out remaining detritus in the shed. Not going to till until after I get the scrap wood all burned. Then I can till the ashes into the soil or put it into the compost.
If I get all that done at a decent time, then I can strip the carpet from the office. Get started on the wiring in there. Wiring itself will not take long, one day at most.
Wish I could say I am excited about getting all this done but it's more something I need to do but don't give a crap about. Only reason I'm doing it is for the money.
