Someone adopted the dog today. Left me sad. I really do love that dog and going to miss him.
Made me feel a lot better this evening when the guy sent me a couple of videos of the dog. He seems sad, maybe anxious but settling in. Comes when called.
The dog did try to bite him when he tried to give the dog a bath. Too soon. It's a big adjustment for the dog, as he has lived his whole life here. Told him to give the dog a couple of days.
I think the videos are a better idea than me going to visit. It could cause more anxiety when I went to leave. At least I know he is safe.
Got nearly all the rest of the wiring done today. I had to reposition all the outlets in my bedroom because they did not line up with the sheet rock. Now they do. Installed the light fixture in the office closet. Installed a light fixture in my bedroom closet. Ran cable for a light fixture in the laundry room. Could not install the light fixture because I did not have another circular box for that purpose. Have to get one before work tomorrow. Installed a switch for the swamp cooler. I had been turning it on for a very long time by plugging it in. Now it can be done normally.
I had hoped to have all the wiring and sheet rock done by this evening but no. I still have a small amount of wiring left to do. Maybe like 2-3 hours worth. Then I can do the sheet rock. Hopefully have that done by Sat night. Plaster Sunday. Start the rest of the painting Monday.
I have tile work to do. Being inexperienced, I expect that to go a bit slowly. Long as I have enough tile, I still expect that to take only one day.
Once all that is done, refinish the floors. Going to use the paint sprayer for that and it should go fast. Biggest thing will be getting the floors really clean beforehand.
Going to refinish the tub, kitchen sink and kitchen counters. I can do all of those in one day but will take some serious planning. The sink and tub have to dry for 3 days. So no cooking or baths during that time. Have to get bottled water or use water from the hose outside.
So, all this is going to take slightly longer than the week I had said a few days ago. Still, almost there. Once those things are done, I can list the house and still work on finishing touches. Some wood accents and things like that.
I do not think the house will take long to sell. I've had a number of people asking about it. I am really hoping to get the $110k I will be asking for it. That will give me a good cushion for the move.
