Interim post

Moving slowly so far. However, got the counters cleaned and applied filler in most spots that needed it. One spot will need more but waiting for first coat to dry so I can build it up effectively. It's a corner with a missing piece of laminate.

Now the bad news. Have to figure out how I can basically do without using the kitchen for six days. The counter paint instructions say it has to dry for 3 days before actual use. Maybe I should do one side of the kitchen today and the other side later.

Of course, the six day statement is because the sink will also take three days to dry. Since I have to tape one during painting, then the other, that's six days.

So, if I do the sink side today, I can do the sink and the other side of the kitchen on Thur. No matter what, I have to get started on the counters today.

The laminate filler I'm using is not as fast drying as the brands I saw in instructions online and this brand has no instructions stating a drying time or even what kind of thinner/solvent to use for cleaning. Luckily, it washed off the putty knife with hot water. (But I bought an extra putty knife yesterday.) Give it another 15 minutes or so and apply more. That doesn't hold me back. That spot is opposite the sink. Just want all of it dry before I start sanding.

Once again, happy for the air compressor. That will help clear out dust from sanding.

Gotta get to it.
