After 2.5 hours, I got one seam sewn for daughter's drapes.
Funny thing I have worked on M1 tanks and made modifications to one. Worked with experimental explosives. Can wire a house. Yet getting a sewing machine set up properly is a distinct challenge for me.
In my defense, in that 2.5 hours, I cleaned the sewing machine (filthy with dust), cut the fabric, pinned the one edge which is now done (the rest will be easier) and fixed dog damage to the well pump. (No comment.)
I'm tired. Had to eat and take my medicine. Finish what I can do tomorrow.
Down side is that I seriously underestimated how much fabric I needed. I only have enough for one window. Have to get more fabric this weekend. Just as well, I guess. Daughter wanted different patterns for each window and her closet, so she has multiple owl patterns. My preference had been for one pattern for both windows, maybe a separate pattern for the closet. Guess I'll let her have her choice. It is her room.
Of course, this would be easier to just buy some drapes but I did want her to have something exclusive to her own room and she will never see somewhere else. Besides, I have not seen any owl pattern drapes already made.
It does run back to something I have always tried to teach her. If you do not find what you want in life, make it. If you do not like the way things are, change them.
