Finally got myself moving and doing the stucco on the front of the house.
Didn't get all that far. First the hose sprung a leak and the toilet broke. I know, not related exactly. True to form for me though. Two water problems on the same day.
Went to Walmart and got a hose repair thing and a new flapper for the toilet. Came home and fixed both of those.
First bag of stucco in the cement mixer stopped working. Took it apart, did some trouble shooting. The circuit breaker and switch had burned out. No chance of getting original replacement parts unless maybe I ordered them and waited for them to come in. Instead, I rewired it and used a standard light switch I had on hand. Back up and running.
Today I focused mostly on getting the bottom section where the grass is growing. Because it requires me to be on hands and knees. Wanted to get as much of that done as possible.
I had planned on making the walls smooth but not really sure I can manage that. I think that kind of finish takes more experience than I have. But I can give it a decent, far more modern finish than it currently has.
Going to take more stucco than I have or want to spend money on. So I'm going to stucco the front of the house and just paint the rest. Aside from the front, the stucco is in pretty good condition any way. I will have to patch around windows and a couple of small places but that's about it. I can get all that done this week. The painting will only take a day or so.
