Pending changes

Daughter has been asking to go to the mountains for several weeks. So, we went yesterday. It was beautiful, all covered with snow. Unfortunately, her sled is too large for my car and I haven't found more in stock as yet in a smaller size. Hope I can find one while there's still snow up there.

Her latest book in the dragon series she's been reading came in. She's been fairly obsessed with reading it.

Since the fitness center near the house opened up, I'm going to start going tomorrow. Start off slow to test my tolerance. Haven't worked out in a very long time and not since finding out about my diagnosis. On that, I have to be cautious. Make sure I don't work out hard enough to drop below a safe weight level.

I figured out an odd and unexpected thing which helps me gain a little weight and generally maintain weight. Potato soup. Potatoes in general but potato soup can be made in large amounts and lasts for more than a few hours. So, I have a pot on the stove right now. If I have to, I can cheat and use potato flakes.

Going to get the tomato seeds for spring started this week. Few more seed potatoes also.

Have to take down the Christmas decorations this week.

Got parts to fix the hole saw. Took a little modification to get the parts to work but spent $4 instead of at least $30 for a new set. Can get the holes in the bedroom ceiling closed up and start working on the rest of the holes. I will be able to get the rest of the wiring and patching done this year. Then it will all mostly be a matter of esthetics.

Hmm. I said when I moved in that I expected to have the house in much better shape in about 5 years. To some degree, if I get enough done this year, I was one year off. Not too bad, considering the employment problems I've had. Though I still don't expect to have the floors refinished this year. Unless I win the lottery.
