Muscle failure

So, made it to the fitness center. I guess I'm better off going earlier. Or no real difference. I'll have to try going even earlier, like right after work. I'd prefer that, any way. Then have time to recover and relax.

I still hold by my theory that it will get slower very soon. The monthly payments for everyone are due on the 17th of the month. So I'm thinking some people won't be there after that date. Basically, the first month cost $1. They didn't charge my account last month and I'm guessing that was true for everyone who signed up.

Still lots of people spending more time walking around, more time on their phones or hanging out around the machines than doing anything. Then others who hop from machine every two minutes, not long enough to do any actual good at all.

Then of course there are the lunkheads.

So, last week I tested my current limits. Learned it will not destroy me to push myself. This week I did just that, pushed myself. Took all my major muscle groups just short of muscle failure. Can't do complete muscle failure. When I take myself to complete muscle failure it is exactly that. I am basically unable to function for several hours. However, that's the best way to build muscle. The closer you get to muscle failure you go, the more muscle you build. I'm already able to extend my weight limit by a small amount over last week. Not going to push too hard but I figure if I can advance by 10 percent per month for each major muscle group it that should be reasonable and achievable.

Cannot say I am happy with where I'm at compared to what I used to be able to do. I have fallen severely. However, when looking at fairly recent developments, how long it has been since I went to a gym on a regular basis and the average for my age, I'm not doing bad at all.
