I have to run a rough budget first but making plans to finish a few things.
In two weeks, I expect I can rent a UHaul truck and go to a home improvement store to pick up large pieces of lumber and quite a bit of it. This is for the major purpose of finishing daughter's room plus a few shelves. Probably a bit more to build a stronger fence in the back yard.
Guess I could have done this before I sold the truck. However, I had reached the point of being nervous driving the truck. Not only mechanical issues but the registration was no longer current. No urge for a ticket. Cheaper to rent a truck than pay a ticket.
Then again, I just took some measurements after writing the above. Not really necessary to rent a truck for the supplies for her room. I can have things cut to smaller size at the store. The truck will be required for supplies for the fence and maybe some shelving material.
Yeah, I do miss having a truck. Guess the way I should look at it is that renting a truck costs the same or less than paying insurance. And much less than maintenance and registration. Just takes more planning.
For now, I can get some supplies and get started on her room this coming week.
