No small amount

Daughter was in a good mood today! Not in much mood for outdoor activities but not lethargic by any means.

I do fear she is too accustomed to controlled environments. You cannot really enjoy nature from indoors. And it's hard to live a truly active life in a controlled environment.

However, we went shopping at several places. Spent no small amount on supplies for her room. Got the dado blades I mentioned. More shelving and wood. We also went to a couple of craft/fabric stores. Got fabric to make window curtains. Owl design. Several decorations, all owls. Daughter picked all of the fabric and decorations and was really happy with all of it.

We also had lunch at a place she likes and we haven't been to in a long time.

I was disappointed. The local Harbor Freight didn't have the drawer sliders, so I had to order them online. But, even with shipping it came out far less expensive for the grade of sliders than Home Depot (or anyplace else I've checked). These are 20" sliders with a 75 lb capacity, self closing, 2 rollers to each side.

I got the two more shelves installed and the top sections glued down with construction adhesive this evening. Can start using the tops and one side of the structure tomorrow. I can start installing the supports and building shelves this week and install them after the sliders arrive.

I'm going to keep a similar design going around the room. Still using melamine for shelves with wood frames. Particle board isn't my preferred choice but should stand up well if sealed along the edges. Long as it doesn't get damp and is decently supported in the structure, it will last for decades. Once it gets any moisture in it you can just throw it away. So, I'll make sure those steps are taken as best I can.
