I am still in the habit of mentally counting the money in savings in with the amount available to spend. However, while I did that this last pay period, I did not touch the savings.
Mostly I do this because I am being impatient about getting things straight which have languished for too long. Like daughter's room. Or things I really want to fix, like the seat belt.
I've had money in savings before when I had a stable income. However, some things went unaccomplished or I did without some things. Like continuing to drive the truck, even though it wasn't very reliable or putting off insulating the house and building a stronger solarium. I had trusted my stable income would remain stable, which didn't happen. Not a foolish assumption but one that has cost me.
This time, I want to accomplish all that I can in a short time before putting any large amount into savings. It almost seems like having more than $1000 in savings is bad for my karma.
