Insomnia

Glad I got dishes and laundry done last night. Had a hard time sleeping last night. Couldn't figure out why. Then, around 1:30 it finally hit me. I was having intestinal pain. One of the down sides to a high pain tolerance, not realizing you're in pain and experiencing other symptoms. (Funny, as a nurse I can sopt it faster in other people than I can in myself.)

Any way, once I handled that, I was able to drift off. But I reset the alarm to sleep later.

Further checking on the swamp cooler motor, found the one I want has to be ordered. Best to replace the old one with an equal or stronger HP motor, which was 3/4 HP for the old one. But the old one was 2 speed and the system isn't wired to run 2 speeds. I have the choice of rewiring or getting a 1 speed. I'm going for the one speed, which runs at the higher speed compared to the 2 speed. I can tell from the rotation the old one was running at the lower speed. The fact that the old motor was wearing out probably has a lot to do with the fact that it wasn't cooling as effectively as it once did. Some part of that is likely based all the way back to when the electricity went out and polarity was inverted, ground was lost. There was probably some motor damage which just had a gradual worsening effect until the motor failed.

Still holding back on ordering the motor. Kind of lost track of how much total is coming out and want to get the other things for the house. I can order the new motor in 2 weeks.

With the air conditioning units, seems I may need to change out some of the breakers and go to 20 amps, up from 15 for standard outlets. No problem with the wiring but air conditioners draw about 10 amps. When you add other items running on the same circuit, the breakers will trip. Wiring is rated for 60 amps, 3 times what the stronger breaker carries.
