They're not done

Wells Fargo isn't done playing games. Online, they show a late fee not paid of $15. When making my last two payments at a branch office, I directly questioned if there were any late charges due and was told clearly each time the system showed no late charges due. I checked before going to the bank yesterday and it said the amount due to make the account current was one amount. Today, after I made the payment, that amount is stated as $15 higher.

I know what this is about. They collect escrow payments through the year. At the beginning of June, any excess is refunded if your account is current for May. If your account is not current, you do not receive a refund. Basically, the money disappears. By the $15 being due but no way it can be applied, they will show me as being $15 behind.

Their accounting still makes things intensely unclear and would be unacceptable to any reputable accountant. I have submitted a request for the account to be audited and clarified.
