Productive afternoon

Had a rather productive afternoon. Well, day once the bike warmed enough to start.

Got some parts for the truck. Have to go back sometime for some other parts. For now, the air pump is working again. That helps the vacuum system work more efficiently. Which may help with the oil pressure. (Hopefully.) Definitely should help a bit with the transmission shifting better and increase gas mileage. Real hope is that it's less likely to overheat.

Got new brakes for the front end. One side had worn out. Replaced those on that side. The other side is okay.

The other part I need is an harmonic balancer. New, they cost about $100. If I can get one from the used parts places, it costs about $20. Pain in the tail to pull one, though.

Got a call from the place I'm going for my procedure tomorrow. I've said before how crooked the medical places here are. Today, they told me my procedure would require a co-payment of over $1200. I informed them this was a preventive care procedure, it should cost nothing out of my pocket and I had already spoken with my insurance company before scheduling anything. "Oh. We'll call you right back." An hour later, still no call. I called them. "Yes, you were right. You won't owe any co-payment." I have no question they intended to bill both me and the insurance company. I also believe they get paid less for preventive diagnostic procedures than for procedures they bill under "regular services".

Any way, I also burned the back yard. Got a tank of propane, pulled out the hose. I had piled stuff up this weekend to burn. Burned one section at a time. It was all so dry that it took under 30 minutes to complete all the areas I planned on burning. Now I can start tilling tomorrow morning. Maybe even in a few minutes, before dark. If I have gas for the tiller. Other than that, I started taking the prep for my procedure. I may not be going anyplace too far.
