Looks like butterfly season is beginning. Daughter caught a couple of white butterflies today and made a small enclosure for them.
She didn't feel like doing a whole lot else today. Her usual Sunday thing, stayed in her gown most of the day and just hung out.
I talked myself into fixing the chain saw. Went and cut up a couple of large branches that fell across the fence from the neighbor's gigantic tree that he had cut down last week. Those branches were big enough that they crushed part of his fence. Dragged the pieces over to my wood pile to dry and twigs to let dry and burn in a couple of weeks.
Then did another limited burn on the north side of the garden to get ready to till.
Truck ran okay taking daughter home and then getting me back home. Bogged down a bit one time but kept going. I think the problem may be in the partially repaired smog system. I need to replace a small control line. Now another problem. Need a new tire because the passenger rear tire has a nail and is leaking air. Aired it yesterday morning and had to fill it again today. At least it holds air enough that I can drive it to a shop. Though that may have to wait until next Sat morning because of my schedule.
Very seriously considering getting another cheap used vehicle which runs, maybe around $1000 or so. Keep the Camaro and fix it later. If I find something which runs decently it would give me more free cash for other projects for right now and I would still have the Camaro which is worth fixing. Now that tax season is in swing, more vehicles are showing up listed at reasonable prices. That is, a higher percentage. Still no shortage of idiots trying to sell crashed up garbage for unreal prices which they will never sell at that price. Many of them could barely be sold for scrap metal.
I ordered more seeds last night. Purple carrots, tobacco and scorpion pepper seeds. The scorpion peppers I am really just trying to grow for sale and making various things. (Insecticide, dog repellant, pepper spray, etc.)
I'm seriously thinking of doing all smaller crops this year in containers. Carrots, mostly. Keep the lettuce crop to a minimum. Plant out the larger crops much later this year. That will give me a chance to till several times to kill off weeds. Keep more space in between the large crops for the same reason.
