Day 3

So, end of 3 days no nicotine. Mind fog is lifting.

I may hold on to the menthol non-nicotine e-cig for a little while. I like the taste and feel. However, not for long. I will eliminate that, also. Distance myself from the physical habit.

I'm going to try and start a new habit to replace smoking. A financial habit. To save $5 a day, about how much I have been spending on smoking. I've been financing the bad habit for many years, pretty sure I can finance the good habit. Act like the money just isn't there.

Going to start decreasing the Chantix dose on Friday.

I'm happy with the fact that I've quit. I used to be the guy who said I would quit smoking when they pried the lighter from my cold, dead hand. However, I now find it better to be a good role model for my daughter and to make better financial decisions.

Been snowing off and on last night and today. Supposed to keep up that pattern until the weekend. So, just as I regain my energy and mental clarity, the weather tanks. Oh, well. Some outside work will just have to wait. Going to get seeds started tonight. Get further along on the taxes. Glad I waited on that. Got another W2 I forgot about. Employer I worked for the previous December but had one paycheck in January, so it counts as 2013 income.

So, my year of healing continues to progress. As usual, the things which progress most slowly are finance and transportation.
