I just sat down and stopped for the day a couple of minutes ago.
I got the tile set in front of the fireplace. Still has to be grouted tomorrow or later.
Did the trap door.
Wood trim is up over the windows.
Moved all the remaining lumber to the shed. Except for a couple of small pieces which I will need. That's the first time in years that there is no lumber in the sunken living room.
And most importantly, got the tub and sink ready to refinish in the morning. I'm letting them dry overnight. Refinishing them saves a tremendous amount of money but it takes a massive amount of work. To do this, you must 1- Remove all caulking. That is a big job alone. 2- Clean with an abrasive scouring pad and Lime-Away. Rinse. 3- Clean with an abrasive cleaner like Comet. Rinse. 4- Sand all areas to be painted using wet/dry sandpaper. (While I was halfway done with this step, my sander's bearing locked up. I've had it for years. So I had to finish that step manually.) Rinse. 5- Let dry. 6- Wipe with a clean soft cloth. 7- NOW you can paint. 8- Let the paint dry for 3 days.
Of course, after all of that I was covered with Comet and sweat. Felt like I needed a bath. Could not take one without having to scrub the tub all over. Just took a spit bath at the sink.
So, tomorrow morning I have to move remaining items out of the areas I will be cleaning. Paint the tub and sink. Then go get the floor polisher.
I opted to wait and install the new thresholds after refinishing the floors. Caulking will have to be done after the tub and sink dry, also. Few small places to spot paint and have to grout the fireplace. Apply grout sealant to all the places I grouted. Which is a lot. Then get the yard in shape. Then I will be ready to sell. Finally.
