Fine tuning

No way I can get away with not sealing the rest of the floors. The white film all over the floors was the old sealant and polish which came up from buffing. So the floors have to be resealed.

However, the sealant isn't as shiny as I had hoped. So, once it's dry I'll apply some floor polish. Saw reviews for some stuff at Walmart which people even like who hate Mop-n-Glo, which is impossible to remove. (Hmm. Wonder if that was what I had such a hard time removing from the floors? Acted like it. Yellowed like it. That was probably what it was.) The sunken living room floor is okay for a regular mop but sucks for a sponge mop. I may just apply that with the paint sprayer also. It would work. And doesn't take days to dry.

If the floor polish looks good enough, I may apply it to the tiles. But I need to clean them first and see how they look with no dust.

Once the floors are all sealed, I have one day of fine-tuning. Clean out the fridge, any last minute spot painting, install new thresholds, paper the cabinets, final organization for showing the house. Stuff like that. Then it goes on the market.

I hope it sells quickly and near my asking price. Running down on funds to lower than my arbitrary comfort zone. Of course, if I'm here for any length of time I can always pick up shift at work. Or sign back on with an agency. I'd rather avoid any of that and get on the road.

Feeling a little more comfortable with the idea of moving now. Need to look at apartments, which is something I've been putting off. Just because the complexes list how many units are available in a certain price range. I've also gotten advice from different people on areas to avoid.

Made a friend online through a post I made on the platonic section of CL. She is a Progressive and very nice. It will be good to have someone I can have actual discussions with once I get there. She is also married and knows what platonic means.

Going to be so happy tomorrow when I can finally take a bath. I smell bad. Been avoiding the urge to touch the tub and sink for days now. Finally gave in and pressed on one inconspicuous part of the tub a few minutes ago. No damage done. It feels pretty solid. So this stuff may actually perform as ceramic. It still looks really good and shiny. Have to avoid making any scratches.

Oh, heck. I have to caulk tomorrow. Almost forgot. Won't take long but is important.

It's going to feel strange living in an apartment for a while and not having any maintenance to do. No garden. I don't think I'm going to like it much at this point. But a break is in order after all this effort.
