Some progress

Nowhere near done yet but did make some forward progress today. Just too damn hot.

Got the area by the back door filled in. Still has to be painted once it's dry. I find it obvious that the area was prone to some flexibility, which tore up the brick and then the concrete which had been there. So I mixed mortar (strength and solidity) and latex paint (for flexibility) and laid that down. Next I will paint it and then lay down some clear urethane paint. That will make it more presentable and hopefully stable.

Painted the front of the fireplace hearth.

Painted the window frame and the wall outside where I applied caulking.

Applied a couple of coats of floor polish where I had sealed the floor yesterday.

Cut down the picnic table.

Burned no small amount of scrap wood.

Now I noticed a problem with the apple trees. Apparently they picked up some kind of parasite that attacks only the apple trees. Going to have to treat them. Though the problem could be caused by salt. I have not been irrigating this year, so the trees are probably picking up additional salt from the soil. The smaller tree is hardest hit, which makes sense, as the roots have not grown deep enough to fully reach the water table yet. I did water the tree and will see if that helps any. The trunk seems fine. Just the leaves have visible damage but it's rather extensive.

Any way, I'm tired. Get more done tomorrow.
