I am so tired and sore!
Spent most of the day outside. Took a lot of breaks but still kept working basically from about 10 AM until almost 9 PM.
Gave the neighbor 200-300 lbs of scrap metal. My original intent was to sell it myself. One day I was talking to him and he said he saves and sells scrap metal. So I knew he has less money than I do. Saving wood and scrap metal to sell is not something you do for fun. Decided while talking to him I would give it to him. So I did.
Had lots of things to do. Moved the broken cinder blocks from the front yard to the back with the other broken blocks. Looks much better.
Cut the grass in the front yard. Pulled some weeds.
Cut the picnic table bench (last one) apart. Burned that along with other scrap. Have to have one last burn tomorrow.
Hose sprung a leak, ran to get a hose mender. No urge for another grass fire. Got that before burning anything.
Moved a pile of branches to the back of the yard with other branches. I'll just let whoever buys the house cut them down to size. They'll be good for the fireplace or fire pit.
Installed the new dryer vent.
Treated the apples trees with a mixture of insecticidal soap and bleach. Figure the mixture will kill insects and germs. Within an hour or so the larger tree was looking slightly better, curled leaves opening up more. I'm 99% sure the problem is insects. Be best if I treat them each day until the house sells.
Tomorrow I have to cut the rest of the back yard, rake and disperse the dirt pile next to the driveway.
Want to get the hallway light fixed tomorrow too, so plaster will dry and I can paint on Tue.
Tue will be the final day of formal work on the house. Organize, clean the fridge and outside of the oven, install handles for cabinets, paper drawers and cabinets, etc. Then I can take pictures and get the house listed on Wed. Had hoped for Tue but better off this way. Have everything in order.
