Just spent more than two hours working on the sunken living room floor. Looks worse than when I started.
Seems that the yellowish spots will not come up. Through the whole room a previous owner applied some kind of sealant which is not proper floor sealant. And because I tried using various substances to strip the floor including Comet, now that it is drying there is a white film which will not come up.
I'm giving up on that room for now. Still have the rest of the house to do. Just going to get a couple gallons of brick paint and paint the damn floor. That will add an extra day to getting out of here but the way the floor looks now would decrease the selling price.
Before doing that, I did paint a couple of spots with some sealant, two different kinds. See if the white film shows through when that's dry.
Screw it. There are lots of small spots of paint which were there when I moved in. I had forgotten about them because they were under furniture. I'm just going to go ahead and paint the floor.
Time to move the computer. The PC will be offline and I'll be on tablet and phone for the night.
