Tree down

Got the Christmas decorations taken down last night. Went in the shed today. Except for the tree and the spiral tree. The inside tree I washed and is draining in the tub. Spiral tree I forgot. Get that tomorrow.

Daughter and I went to Home Depot today, They have a free projects for kids first Saturday each month. We go whenever I remember. Today it was a wooden calendar. Good thing, since I forgot to get a calendar! It can now sit on my desk. Holds pencils and pens, too.

She also helped me start taking down the garden. The girl enjoys swinging a machete. Constructively, that is. The leaves she and the ex gave me filled the compost bin very nicely. Much appreciated. (Still had them in bags until today.) Collected lots of tomatoes still hanging or on the ground. Just have to cut them open and let the seeds dry for planting. No need to ferment them like I usually do.

Thanks to the gift card from friends in Texas, picked up wood for various projects and a few bags of concrete to extend the solarium that last few planned feet. (For this year.) After thinking about it, going to use poultry netting to keep dogs out of the planting area. Otherwise it disrupts heat collection. More wood to complete some shelving. Other supplies for a special project or two.
