Greenhouse effect

A lot of people still are opposed to the greenhouse effect. The cold winter makes them bolder in their claims it is not real.

On FB, I have written a couple of posts which explain how the cold winter is actually a large scale heat transfer effect. Meaning colder winters are not an indication of the planet not experiencing this but are further proof of the reality of global warming.

Basically, what is happening is a large scale solar chimney effect. The more one part of the planet heats up (and the more rapidly), the more that effect draws cooler air in from other areas. This results in stronger winter storms.

The stronger spring storms are another indication. The effect is accelerating. The more rapidly each part of the planet warms up with the change of seasons, the more violent these storms will become.

On smaller scales, this effect has been well understood in science for millennia. To meteorologists, it is understood on a larger scale. The models for the global effect keep changing and the more they factor in the acceptance of global warming, the more precise they become.

This effect will continue to accelerate and become more violent until both polar caps completely melt and the temperature differential decreases. I'm not sure what to expect at that point yet as my understanding is still developing.

I do know ocean levels will rise, which will result in much higher levels of precipitation. Entire lengths of cities will be under water. The effects from that and the denial until the last minute will be extensive pollution of the oceans, as people will neglect to clean those areas before they sink. That will decrease the plankton levels, which produce most of the oxygen for the planet.

Personally, despite current models, I expect the acceleration to cause the complete loss of both polar caps within the next decade.
