So, the ambient temperature in the South Valley dropped into the 20's last night. Growing season is officially over.
According to the thermometer I installed last night, the temperature inside the solarium remained at 37. Now that is behind the heater, in the center and well above the ground. Closer to the ground and structures the temperature would remain higher. In front of the heater would also remain higher. The tomato plants are looking pretty good. Cucumber vines not so much. Oh, well. BTW, I dod only have the heater on the lowest setting.
I do think the temperature will remain higher now that the door is in place. I didn't get things sealed up last night until after sundown, so no chance for greater solar gain before the heat loss began.
The dogs have figured out they can go into and out of the solarium. However, they've just been sticking their noses in and backing out. But I closed the dog door while they're eating to discourage them pooping inside.
I still have some sealing to do at the bottom. The ground is uneven and there are some gaps between the solid boards and the ground. Have to work on that soon.
I'm interested to see what the highest temperature gain during the day will be today.
