Off to a slow start this morning. I think I do that most Saturday mornings, just because I can.
Used the new mixer last night and it does really well. Only thing I don't like is that it doesn't reach the bottom of the bowl while in the stand. Have to see if I can figure out a good fix for that. Otherwise, why have a stand mixer? It is cool that the bowl stand rotates, so the bowl will turn by itself while something is mixing. So, I made a batch of gluten free and a batch of regular cookies last night. Now I'm thinking of uses for the dough hooks and whisk attachments. Going to be a nice addition to the kitchen for the holidays, especially when making tamales and pies.
I ordered another bottle of chlorophyll and mint tablets to mix with the dog food. It does a really good job of reducing their odor.
Been successful in training them to crap outside the solarium. They're getting the idea, since they are starting to sleep in there, since it's warmer inside the solarium at night.
Yesterday I sprinkled powdered oxidizing cleaner all over the solarium, then mixed acid and ammonia with water and sprayed it with the garden sprayer. Then watered it all in really well, once during lunch and again during my break. That seems to be reducing the residual smell pretty well so far. I may have to water a few more times, so to encourage bacterial growth in the soil to do the rest of the job. That's what will be most effective in this case. Not like I can clean the fecal residue out of the soil. If it progresses too slowly I can make a compost tea and sprinkle that over the area for faster microbe activity.
Looks like the mice are all gone. Not seeing any visible signs of them. I hear a noise once in a while in the morning and evening but always single sounds in the same places. Most likely settling from temperature changes. But I'm keeping the poison out, just in case.
I'm going to build a few shelves into the solarium. That will give me a place to put smaller plants plus help reinforce the structure more from lateral movement. Besides, it will make it look nicer.
Okay, I should get up and get something done. Need to vacuum, sweep and mop. I'm going to start getting different parts of the house in order this weekend. Long overdue but I can start putting some of the structural improvements to work now.
