Daughter and I harvested carrots this evening, once the heat of the day was dropping. Turned out the garden is producing a lot better this year than I thought! We harvested 18-20 lbs of carrots! (That is, just the carrots, after tops were cut off.) It added up to more than that when including the ones she ate and cracked carrots we're saving to feed to horses, along with the tops.
Other than that, we got two chicks today. Went to Harbor Freight for the alarm for the front yard. Played Uno. She didn't really want to do much away from home. I worry sometimes because she's rather averse to spending much time in public. Guess I can't say much because I was the same at her age. I'm still pretty non-social. What really matters though is that she's happy with who she is, which is harder for social people to achieve and easier for introverts.
Any way, we also had plums and grapes from the garden this evening but her favorite was the carrots.
I have to harvest the rest of the kale and trim the grass before I plant late summer crops.
