Who knew?

Yesterday had a good start. Paycheck went in the bank and it was the best check I've had in a while.

Unfortunately, that good vibe didn't last. Network problems and rude people all day. So many rude people I was exhausted by the end of the day. May have been residual problems on my part after being sick the day before, so my tolerance for ignorance was way down.

In any case, I took a couple of hits of cannabis very shortly after work. Unfortunately, I tried a kind which I haven't used much before. The effect was nothing but making me more exhausted and taking away all motivation. It was like part of my mind was watching this and knew what was happening but couldn't really stop it. I may take that kind before bed but definitely no other time from now on.

To make it even better, then I couldn't get to sleep last night. It sucks to be exhausted but unable to sleep!

Oh, well. I did finally get to sleep. Feel okay now.

I've been looking for wisteria for the yard. Now I understand why it's not too common here. Live plants cost as much as $85! I had ordered some seeds for Chinese wisteria and was looking up growing tips when I learned they can take as long as 15 years to flower! Okay, that explains the price and why it's hard to find. However, I found a nursery (with good reviews) that sells American (Amethyst Falls) Wisteria for under $20 plus shipping and is supposed to flower the very first year. It's supposed to grow quickly and one reviewer from Dallas said it's very heat tolerant. (Gets hotter there than here, so that's a good endorsement.)

Oh, I forgot. The butterfly bush seeds have been in the freezer for two weeks now. So, they should be stratified and ready to plant this weekend. I tried growing them once before but the seed packet did not tell me to stratify them, so that may be why they never grew.

Well, those plants aren't too common around here, so it should make the house and yard stand out. Aside from the 15 ft tall sunflowers, that is.

Looks like the tactics I used for killing off the nuisance trees has finally worked. Happy to say without poisoning the soil. The acid, Epsom Salt and even the residual wood will eventually work into the soil and improve it.

Picking up daughter today. She has a choir performance this afternoon. Unfortunately I don't get to see it, just drop her off and pick her up. It's at an Alzheimer's care center. Hmm. I'm bringing hand sanitizer with me. Hope she has fun and that they picked out some appropriate songs for the audience.
