In stasis. Suspended animation.
Waiting to hear back from two potential employers. Jobs I would prefer to have. Of course, those take longer to make a decision.
Meanwhile, holding back on applying with employers I expect would make decisions more quickly. Jobs I could probably be hired on but they are slightly less attractive to me at this time.
When you're younger, you can afford to take the first job you're offered. Though for younger people these days, even that window is less open. Further into your career, you have to look more closely at the long term effects on your entire resume. What image it sends about you as a person. What expectations it may cause from future employers.
Right now, I'm trying to get my foot in the door to insurance and legal services. My medical background can be a definite bridge to those fields.
Of course, I'm also hoping to make a decent living wage and bring everything back on track. Once I'm making sufficient income and have things stable, I want to go on a major push to get ahead. Pay off my student loan once and for all. If possible, within one year. (Though that may be unrealistic. 2-3 years would be more likely.)
