The ex had things going on, making it difficult for her to pick daughter up today. Waiting for a replacement radiator, I couldn't drop her off. So she spent an extra day with me. Never a bad thing!
We didn't do much. Swimming. She spent half the day in the pool. Went to BK for a small late lunch. My bicycle had a flat, so I walked and she rode her bike. Reading. Just general playing around.
She wrote a song today and sang it to me. It was really good! Girl has natural talent! I really hope she continues with that. I tend to think it's part of her because she was making up songs when she was 3 years old and often sang while I carried her on my shoulders. She is a little shy about singing but I hear her singing to herself a lot of the time and they are songs she makes up. Singing in front of me today indicates she's getting over the shyness about singing. (Note: That has been her only apparent shy area.)
While she was swimming, I thinned out Cosmos from around the tomato plants. Did some more support tying. Cut down lots of cilantro to save the seeds.
Still some battle with squash bugs. Grr!
Looks like the weather may start cooling down. Got a cool break this evening. Little rain (very little), some cloud cover and some cool breezes. Such a relief. Forecast calls for mostly cooler temps over next few weeks. However, that doesn't always remain true. I am hoping for a gradual decline in heat.
