Ugh

Fell asleep late last night. I was restless. Then had leg cramps. Fell asleep, then woke up with stomach cramps during the night.

I turned the alarm off and slept late, until 11 AM.

Not feeling so energetic. Still having some intestinal cramping and general malaise.

Have to be honest. I feel like my health is deteriorating. All due to my intestinal/immune issues.

I'm going to hold on a few months, do what I can and hope it improves. If it does not improve by January, going to the doc and get a CT scan and some labs. I am honestly at the point where I am considering if surgery would be a good option. One common treatment for ulcerative colitis is a partial colectomy. My question is whether this would actually make my absorption problem worse instead of better. Something I would have to discuss at length with a surgeon and internal medicine specialist after a CT scan determined extent of damage. I also have no desire for a colostomy. I will not agree to surgery if that would be necessary.

I also have to admit that while surgical complications are a concern, a bigger concern is financial. How long would I be away from work? I doubt for long. I would have to have an IV for nutrition. A PICC line. If it could be arranged so I could do my own IV's that would be great. Definitely have the knowledge and skill. I would have to have someone else to change the dressing at least once a week. That would only be for six weeks, long as no complications occur.

Going to keep it open as a consideration. Really want to avoid that if possible.
