Supervisory position

A new supervisory position came open at work. Once again, I was encouraged to apply for it by my supervisor, who is not the same supervisor who encouraged me last year.

So, this time I did apply. Not getting my hopes up too much. I'm often naive about politics. Too honest for it.

I do have a history of supervisory positions over the years and tend to be very good at it. As long as I can keep the politics at bay. My approach is inclusive and problem solving, not finger pointing, bossy or pushy.

There is one caveat to this. Vacation time is coming up. If I am offered the position but it interferes with time with daughter I will pass on it. I would much rather keep my relationship intact with her than take a promotion. I'm at a fairly decent time in my life right now. Finances aren't bad, I have lots of interests and free time. No driving need to be in charge. I just get bored and frustrated with rude callers at times. Plus, as I said, I'm good at being in charge. Just because I care about what I'm doing. If I found I did not like the supervisor position, I could always step down amicably.

As a result of the application process taking so long plus taking the dog for a long walk (reward for behaving), had to skip the gym tonight. Try and make it there tomorrow.

Looks like I am winding up to be more of an activist for cannabis than I had planned on. The more I learn about new science showing benefits plus the false information passed for so many years, it's kind of drawing me in. New scientific research actually shows it helps fight/prevent cancer. That's in addition to the known anti-inflammatory effects, anti-emetic properties, decrease of intraocular pressure for eye problems and anxiolytic benefits it seems only natural I would get involved. It's much safer, less toxic and more effective than many prescription medicines. Not to mention far less expensive if you can grow your own. Though I am still viewing it as a medication. Some people see it as recreational but I don't fall into that category. Those are the kind of people most likely to use it and drive or use it as an excuse for aberrant behavior.
