Overrun

More mice than I thought. What's most concerning is that they are acting strangely, for what I know of mice. Mice usually run along walls and edges, where they're protected. Some of these mice have been running right across the middle of the floor during the day. One ran very close to my feet while I was working. It ran away as soon as I moved my foot but that's still really close for a mouse. That kind of behavior can raise flags in a place where plaque, Hanta virus and rabies are endemic.

Not having much luck with the humane traps. So, spread some poison today. Then got some strong mint mouthwash, sugar free. Mixed it with water in a garden sprayer and sprayed it all over the house. Everything I've read says mice don't like the smell of mint and it will drive them away. I think my steps are working. Haven't seen any for several hours now.

I can only assume one of two things. Either they are coming in because the weather is changing or they were hiding in the ceiling. When I installed the insulation, it displaced them.

Tired tonight. Been keeping busy all week, so I guess a night off is in order.

Last night I vacuumed a lot of the insulation up, including the walls. No small amount stuck to walls while I was blowing the insulation. Much better now. Plus did lots of laundry. Night before I washed tons of dishes. And more laundry. There are still pockets of insulation here and there in corners and crannies but I'm getting to them. Just not tonight.

Picking up an extra hour tomorrow morning for work. Today was okay. I've made at least an extra $90 this week. Probably more but that's all I recall. If I can keep that going, won't be any big problem paying for the dentures. Of course, then there's the issue of getting a Friday off to get the work done. Damn Work Force Management never wants to approve a day off. If I have to, I'll take a sick day for it. Pisses me off because I had to do that earlier this year for other medical testing.

Oh, well. Getting to bed in a few minutes.
