Went and got the cement mixer after work today. Not words you hear every day, even from me.
I got the small one. Of course, the urge was there to get the big one but between an extra $60 and being realistic about my needs, I deferred the larger size. Just means more batches for each project but still a hell of a lot faster and easier than mixing it manually.
Here's a cool thing. Next door neighbor told me I can borrow his big truck if I need to haul stuff in the future. Even if I give him $20 or so, much cheaper than renting. Not planning any major purchases in the immediate time frame but things can change if I miscalculated concrete or lumber for my current projects.
Today was pretty good for work. I figure I made about an extra $130 this week. Before taxes, of course. However, if I can average the same every week, I'll have most of the money for dentures just in extra pay by the date of the appointment. Yeah, slightly nervous about the money involved because it's no small amount. That doesn't stop other things from having to be done.
I want to get at least part of the ramp done this weekend, so I can get daughter's hand print in the concrete.
Not doing a whole lot tonight. Dishes, get the concrete mixer put together. Then get some sleep and do some cleaning in the morning.
